We work with different factories for different product applications, and colour output can vary depending on the material, printing method, and equipment used at each facility. Where a customer has specific colour requirements, such as matching a brand's Pantone or colour guide, we offer colour proofing and strike-off as a value-added service to reduce the risk of mismatch before full production begins.
A strike-off is a small printed or dye-sublimated sample produced using the actual material and process intended for the final order, allowing the colour to be checked before the full batch is produced. Colour proofing may also involve digital previews, photos, or physical swatches shared for review and approval, depending on the product, factory, and order requirements.
Colour proofing and strike-off are typically offered for orders involving specific Pantone references, brand colour guides, or other defined colour requirements, particularly for solid or near-solid colours. This is most relevant for products such as tension fabric backdrops, table cloths, and barricade covers where colour accuracy against a brand identity matters.
We are not able to guarantee an exact Pantone or colour match. Results vary depending on the factory, material, and printing method used, and some variance between a digital colour code and the final printed or dyed output should be expected. This is an inherent limitation of fabric printing and dye-sublimation processes generally, not specific to any one factory.
Colour proofing works best for solid or flat colours. Gradients, complex graphics, photographic imagery, and designs with fine colour transitions are significantly harder to proof accurately, and a strike-off sample may not fully represent how these will appear across a full-size print. We will flag this where relevant when reviewing artwork.
Colour proofing and strike-off add to production lead time, typically by a few additional days, to allow for sample production, review, and any necessary adjustment before the full order proceeds. This should be factored into planning for time-sensitive events. We will advise on the expected impact to lead time when proofing is requested.
Colour proofing and strike-off are offered as a value-added service at no additional charge.
Where a strike-off or colour proof is provided, we will share this with the customer for review before proceeding to full production. Once approved, production proceeds based on the approved sample. Requests for further colour adjustment after approval may affect lead time and, depending on the stage of production, may not always be possible.
